HOW WE COMPARE

Clear facts. Visible sources.

A Greater Houston storage comparison

We research storage units and specialty vehicle storage, including RV and boat facilities. Coverage includes Houston and selected surrounding communities in the Greater Houston region. This is a selected guide, not a complete inventory. A facility address is not a service-area claim.

A location, a space and a price are different things

A facility may advertise climate control, drive-up units and vehicle parking in different parts of its site. We record facility amenities separately from the features of each advertised space. Unit filters must match the same space. We do not turn a facility-wide claim into a feature of every unit.

Dimensions follow operator labels, not an inspection of usable space. A 5 × 10 and a 10 × 5 label share a footprint but may have different entrances. Height, door clearance, manoeuvring room and permitted contents need separate confirmation. Advertised variants are not counts of vacant units.

What a website check means

We reviewed material from an operator’s official website on the displayed date. Retrieval can use an indexed or cached page; a source date does not promise live availability. We have not visited the facility, confirmed facts with the company or assessed service quality. Source links let you check the original information.

Unknown is not no

“Reported available” needs an explicit supporting statement. “Reported not available” needs explicit contrary evidence. “Not stated” includes missing or conflicting information. A climate-controlled building does not establish a specific humidity range or flood protection. Cameras operating 24 hours do not establish 24-hour customer access. Power at a wash area does not establish power at your storage space.

Understanding an observed price

A price belongs to one identified space and its stated collection time. Where the source makes the context clear, we show the monthly amount, whether it is a web, promotional, advertised or standard rate, any reported regular amount, promotion terms and fee context. We do not calculate an apparent discount when its relationship to the displayed rate is unclear.

Price observations expire within seven days of the source observation and disappear from price matching after expiry. Waitlisted and contact-only spaces are excluded from price sorting and price filters. They can still appear in a size comparison with their availability context. Individually reviewed contact-only spaces may show a dated published rate reference on their facility page, clearly marked as requiring an availability enquiry. These references expire within seven days and do not enter price matching, sorting or budget filters. Insurance, taxes, administration charges, deposits and promotion eligibility can change the total. Ask the operator for a full quote; we do not process bookings or guarantee a price.

Selection and sorting

The default order is alphabetical. Optional price sorting uses the lowest fresh observation among spaces that match all selected requirements. It excludes unpriced or waitlisted options and is not a claim about the cheapest facility in the market. We do not rank quality, sell organic positions, republish reviews or copy operator photographs and marketing descriptions.

No paid placements are active. Future ads must match the displayed filters, carry an explicit paid-placement label and use sponsored links. They remain separate from organic results.

Map locations and the results list

The map and list use the same filter results. The list is paginated; the map includes all matching facilities with reviewed coordinates. Results awaiting coordinate review remain in the list and are counted separately. Prices in a selected map card follow the same matching-space and freshness rules as the list.

Coordinates come from the US Census Bureau geocoder, using public street-address ranges. They are approximate locations, not surveyed entrances or rooftop measurements. Unmatched, conflicting and suspicious results are held for review; we never replace them with a city-centre marker. This product uses the Census Bureau Data API but is not endorsed or certified by the Census Bureau. Google Maps provides the optional map presentation, not our facility database, reviews or coordinates.

Source selection and updates

We use selected factual information supported by official sources. Sources with unresolved reuse restrictions are excluded or held for review. A check that finds no restriction is not a licence or company permission. Corrections are reviewed before changing public facts.

Facility source checks expire after 90 days, individual-space checks after 30 days, and price observations within seven days. Changes can occur sooner. Automated source monitoring respects access limits and robots rules, records outcomes and sends changes for review; it does not automatically approve facts or renew price dates. Dynamic or unsuitable sources are checked manually.
